After being involved in the music scene in Denver (and beyond) for more than 20 years I realized something. The persona that embodied my style, feel, and presentation of my art had adapted significantly since the beginning. I started my music career producing electronic music heavily influenced by bands like Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, and Skinny Puppy. I also took a lot of inspiration from bands like Anthrax, Motorhead, and later bands like Slipknot and Disturbed. Throughout my career however, my style has continue to adapt – matching major events in my life, and drawing inspiration from the people that I surrounded myself with. As I’ve grown older I’ve found myself returning to those artists that got me interested in producing electronic music to begin with. I’ve often found myself reliving memories of dancing to hard thumping trance in a dusty run-down warehouse with some of my closest friends and not a care in the world. Life was simple then, it was about the music, the community, and just having fun. I wanted to find some of those feelings again and have been blown away by some of the artists that I’ve discovered along the way.
As Z3Nπ, I’ve found the freedom to reinvent myself through my art, with no expectations of previous projects and it’s a truly unique opportunity to bring those feelings to a whole new generation of fans through my art and hope to inspire them in the same way that I was inspired.
I look forward to exploring this new project with you all, and can’t wait to see you on the dance floor.
